Sri Krishna Basic School is located in Kankad, Ward No. 8 of Punarwas Municipality, situated in the southern region of the district. The village where the school is located is exclusively inhabited by the indigenous Rana Tharu community, and their native language is Rana Tharu. Since the village lies in a lowland area, crops such as paddy, wheat, and sugarcane are produced throughout the year. However, during the winter season, agricultural production in most of the fields is quite low. Therefore, due to heavy reliance solely on basic crop production, the economic condition of the residents in this village is rather weak.
